Renewal of the Partnership Agreement between ADB and IADB

On 17 March 2001, the ADB and the IADB (together, the Parties) signed a Partnership Agreement for cooperation under the Japan Program (the Agreement).

Section 4 of the Agreement provides, “This agreement will be effective from 1 April 2001 for a period of 12 months. IADB and ADB shall explore further arrangements to extend the cooperation beyond the initial year.” The Parties’ representatives (ADB Director-General, Strategy and Policy Department and IADB Manager, Integration and Regional Programs Department) met on 11 December 2001 at the IADB Headquarters to discuss the continuation of cooperation on the terms of the Agreement for an additional period.

It was agreed that the effectiveness of the Agreement shall be extended from May 1, 2002 to December 31, 2004.
