Crisis Developments in Asia and Europe
Background
ADBI is planning a series of conferences related to the current global economic and financial crisis, including identifying its likely impacts on Asian countries, developing scenarios for growth re-balancing away from exports, and developing recommendations related to macroeconomic policy, structural and institutional innovations, regional integration and financial reform. This conference will focus on crisis developments in Asia and Europe.
Objectives
The conference will examine the impact of the global financial crisis on Asia and Europe and their respective responses; analyze the future of global monetary arrangements; and discuss some specific proposals for reforming global regulatory system.
Outputs
This activity will produce research papers of publishable quality and conference proceedings not later than 31 October 2009.
Participants
The participants of this conference consist of internationally known academics, senior policymakers from European and Asian countries, and representatives from international private financial institutions and non-government organizations.
Partners
This conference is being organized by the Asia Europe Economic Forum (AEEF). The goal of the forum is to organize a series of conferences in Asia and Europe. The forum consists of the following members: - Brussels European and Global Economic Laboratory (BRUEGEL),
