Fan Zhai
Research Fellow

Brief Biography

Fan Zhai joined ADBI in June 2008 after serving as Economist in ADB's Economics and Research Department. Previously, he has worked in the Ministry of Finance and the Development Research Center of the State Council in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). He holds a Ph.D. in system engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, PRC.

His research focuses on the development of applied general equilibrium models and their applications in trade, social security and environment issues in developing countries. He has published articles in several professional economics journals. He and his co-authors were awarded the Sun Yefang Prize in 2003, which is the highest biannual award for economists in the PRC.
